2022 Kia XCeed debuts in Europe with a new GT-line variant | Zigwheels

KUALA LUMPUR: Kia’s highly popular compact crossover, the XCeed, has just received a significant update in the Old Continent. In the latest form, the car features a bold new exterior design, an enhanced interior, and a competitive powertrain line-up. A new GT-line variant is also added to the range. Let’s dive deeper and know more about the 2022 Kia XCeed.

Built upon its predecessor’s iconic design, the new Kia XCeed is stylish, expressive, and modern. The exterior is equipped with a revised grille, new LED headlamps and an innovative air intake design. The fog lamps are creatively integrated into the headlights while the air curtains are present on either side to guide air smoothly which reduces drag and improves fuel efficiency. 

Also parts of the upgraded kit are 18-inch alloys, a new diffuser with a gloss black skid plate, and slim LED tail lights.

Coming to the new XCeed GT-Line, the new variant differentiates itself from the base model with a number of sporty touches. These include an edgy tiger nose design on the front grille, a sporty lower air intake, cladding on the side bumper, dark chrome air curtains, distinctive hexagonal-shaped LED tail lights, a body-coloured lower diffuser, machine-finished 18-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured sills, and gloss black roof rails.

Inside, the new Kia XCeed boasts superior ergonomics and high-quality materials that deliver a first-class environment. Included in the features list are a 12.3-inch Supervision digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, three driving modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport) a JBL Premium audio system, dual-zone air-conditioning, heated windscreen and electric folding door mirrors, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. As for upholstery, customers can choose from a range of cloth, suede, synthetic leather, or genuine leather. 

The GT-line, on the other hand, exudes a sporty feel with a motorsport-inspired ‘D-cut’ steering wheel, black headliner, Perforated leather-wrapped gear knob, and an exclusive GT-line seat design.

As for safety, the car is equipped with a wide range of active driver-assist and safety technologies, including. Smart Cruise Control, Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning Plus, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Speed Limit Warning, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Highway Driving Assist, and High Beam Assist. 

The new Kia XCeed is set to hit the European showrooms later this year, with deliveries commencing around Dec 2022.
