One of the most interesting crossovers of 2022 is the Ford Bronco Sport. Although it wears the same name as a regular Bronco, the Sport version is far different. On top of being a smaller crossover, it isn’t as expensive or ready for off-road driving. There are a few trim levels available at different prices, and each is reasonably well-equipped. What are the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport trim levels?

Firstly, the cheapest version of the crossover is the Bronco Sport Base model. Starting at $29,860, it’s surprisingly well-equipped for a crossover under $30,000. According to Edmunds, every version comes with all-wheel drive. Additionally, remote monitoring via smartphone, a 4.3-inch digital instrument display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and adjustable drive modes are standard.

Next, the Bronco Sport comes with 17-inch wheels and roof rails. As a result, the crossover looks about as adventurous as its bigger brother. LED headlights, a rear liftgate with a flip-up window, and a six-speaker audio system round out the standard features.

Moreover, the Base model is the first of three trims with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine producing 181 horsepower. Every Bronco Sport also comes with Ford’s suite of safety features, Ford Co-Pilot360. In the suite, owners get frontal collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams.

Leaping up to the Big Bend model costs $31,575. On top of everything the Base model comes with, this next trim level adds more. Heated mirrors, tinted rear-passenger and cargo windows, keyless ignition and entry, automatic climate control, stain-resistant cloth upholstery, a rubberized cargo floor, Molle cargo straps, a rear fold-down center armrest with cupholders, and satellite radio are all included. Furthermore, Big Bend buyers also gain access to the optional Convenience Package.

Next, the Convenience Package adds a lot to the slew of features. For example, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and rear parking sensors join the lineup. In addition, the package includes amazing extras like LED foglights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charging pad, front seatback cargo pockets, and a universal garage door opener.

Choosing the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks model gets you plenty of comfort features for $35,495. Edmunds calls it the trim to select if you want comfort over off-road readiness. Amazing comfort features like remote engine start, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats are standard. Other upgrades include rain-sensing/heated wipers, LED foglights, a 6.5-inch digital instrument display, interior ambient lighting, a power outlet, and more.

In the same vein as the Big Bend model, the Outer Banks model unlocks an optional package. For this upper-tier trim, it’s the Tech Package. As part of the optional package, owners gain a 10-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system, a wireless charging pad, an HD radio, and a universal garage door opener.

Finally, the range-topping model is the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands, which costs $38,185. With this one, buyers get the most off-roading features while remaining comfortable. It’s similarly equipped to the Outer Banks model but adds even more. Items like an off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, front tow hooks, an upgraded 4WD system with a special rear differential, two additional driving modes, trail control, a forward-looking 180-degree camera system, and rubberized flooring have you ready for off-road driving out of the gate.

However, that’s not all the fully loaded Bronco Sport has that others don’t. Moreover, heated cloth front seats and passenger-side rear seat underfloor storage also enter the list of features. Furthermore, the Badlands trim is the only one to gain access to the Premium Package. With this package, you’ll get a power-adjustable passenger seat, leather-trimmed upholstery, a 10-speaker B&O audio system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless charging pad, rear parking sensors, and a heated steering wheel.

Finally, the Badlands trim is the only one that comes with an upgraded engine. Under the hood of every Bronco Sport Badlands, you’ll find a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It’s capable of producing up to 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

Finally, the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ Package is available for every trim level except the base model. In short, the Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands Bronco Sport trims can each access the extra features. They are adaptive cruise control with speed limit recognition, a lane-keeping system, evasive steering assist, and a navigation system.

Additionally, the Class II Trailer Tow Package is available for the same models. Finally, single feature options are a power sunroof and larger all-terrain tires. These are available for any 2022 Ford Bronco Sport model for a fee.

In conclusion, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport crossover has four available trim levels. Starting with the Base trim, the Bronco Sport is less than $30,000 out of the gate. However, it gets closer and closer as it gains the many features and amenities of the upper trim levels. Whether you choose Big Bend, Badlands, or Outer Banks, each is unique and adds some flair to the crossover. Although it isn’t as rugged as the standard Bronco, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is off-road capable, comfortable, and more affordable.
