Everyone on social media is talking about two random objects, doors and wheels, thanks to a hilarious viral debate.

It all started when a Twitter user posted a simple poll asking internet users: Are there more doors or wheels in the world?

After gaining 223,000 responses, the post went viral and this question is now stumping internet users who cannot agree on an answer.

Are you Team Doors or Team Wheels? Here are some arguments for both…

My mates and I are having the STUPIDEST debate… And I am here for it. Do you think there are more doors or wheels in the world?

Some people are convinced that the answer must be doors, and they have good reason to do so.

First, you have to think about all the normal doors we walk through. There’s doors in houses, flats, office buildings, skyscrapers, hospitals. That’s a lot of doors in the world already!

Then you have to start thinking about other types of doors, like cupboard doors, washing machine doors, doors in toilet stalls, doors on cruise ships and on shipping containers.

What about advent calendar doors too, and school lockers, cars, wardrobes and dolls houses. Are you Team Doors now? Well, let’s look at some arguments for Wheels next.

this wheels v doors thing stays on my mind too much #fyp #teamwheels

Moving onto wheels, which was the winning option on the original Twitter poll.

Most people first think about vehicles. Cars, planes, trains, lorries, vans, scooters, bikes. That’s a lot of wheels when you consider every single vehicle in the world.

Then, you have to think about all the things above but toy versions. Toy cars, toy trains, toy planes. Think how many tiny little toy wheels there are in the world.

Plus, there’s wheels on trolleys, suitcases, pushchairs, warehouse carts, clothing rails, underneath fridges, steering wheels, wheelie bins, roller blades, lawn mowers, office chairs. So many wheels!

Oh, and if you’re counting tiny little metal cogs in machinery as wheels then that has to be the winner, right?

Now you’ve heard some arguments for both, what do you think? Doors or wheels?

The exact answer is completely impossible to work out as nobody has ever counted every single door and wheel in the world, which is what makes the debate so great.

Social media is being flooded with posts as people debate whether they are Team Doors or Team Wheels, and a trend has emerged on TikTok that sees people using the song from Despicable Me to argue their case.

Right now, the general consensus appears to be wheels, but the debate doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon.
